Adebyor is interested in Barcelona too

I think Adebayor needs to get a move on and get out of Arsenal; it’s obviously what he wants but he’s trying to get the best financial deal he can.

His comments below are from the News of the World and the point he makes about replacing Henry I can understand to a certain degree. Anyone in his shoes would do exactly the same so I can’t really blame him.

“Milan are a big club but the fact they are not playing in the Champions League next season is less of a challenge,” Adebayor told the News of the World.

“Barcelona have made a good financial offer and there is also the chance to play alongside great players.

“Yes, I am still under contract to Arsenal but it’s up to the directors to satisfy my demands or I’ll leave.

“If my good form of last season has increased my value, my employers have to take account of that.

“I have to prepare for my retirement. Even if you are not scoring fine goals and you have money, you can enjoy a happy retirement.

“The time for preparing for that moment is now.”

Adebayor believes he should be given parity with former team-mate Thierry Henry after successfully filling the void left by the Frenchman last season.

He explained: “People ask if I am asking for the same salary as Henry. That is not necessarily the question.

“But I am being considered a worthy replacement for Henry while not deserving his salary.

“The question lies on this level.”

Adebayor togo or not togo?

Here’s a story straight from www.football365.com - I wish Adebayor would decide once and for all! Mind you, half the time it’s the media stirring up rumours in the first place.

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has given conflicting messages over his future as he pledged to stay with the club at midday, before just over an hour later, in an interview with Sky Sports News, conceding he could yet still sign for Milan.

The assembled press must have thought Adebayor was set for a stay at Emirates Stadium after his press conference, but when quizzed later on whether there was any chance of a move to Milan he replied: “Nothing has been decided yet. We will decide next week.”

Togo international Adebayor has been the subject of fevered speculation all summer, with Milan having declared their interest in bringing him to Italy.

Arsenal have remained tight-lipped on the player’s future but now Adebayor has come out to comment on his situation in North London; albeit with sentiments that will likely confuse all parties.

On Thursday, super agent Vincenzo Morabito stated that the forward was ‘80 per cent certain’ of joining Milan but this prediction appeared to be somewhat ill-founded, at least when Adebayor spoke at a press conference.

He said: “I have three more years with Arsenal, I have a good team there, I have a good contract.

“The most important thing is to keep enjoying myself. Of course (I am staying) I have three more years.

“You can see people changing clubs because of money, because they want a change of atmosphere or to get their names in the big leagues. I just play football to enjoy myself. I play because I love it.

“We all have the same ideas and we all want to achieve something. We have a good boss which is Arsene Wenger, he tries to bring this atmosphere to the dressing room where we feel like brothers and like family.

“Those are the reasons that give us a chance to play the football we play. We play good football, now we look forward to winning trophies.”

Adebayor’s comments would likely have been well received in the capital but later, in a one-on-one interview with Sky Sports, the player was considerably more ambiguous with regards his future.

“I am a footballer, I have a three-year contract at Arsenal but as you know, a lot of clubs are interested in me,” he told Sky Sports News.

“At the moment we are just going to sit down and talk and decide what to do.

“Nothing has been decided yet. We will decide next week.”

Agent claims we’re considering Crouch

A football ’super agent’ Vincenzo Morabito has apparantly claimed that Arsenal are considering Peter Crouch as a possible replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor. That’s rich considering Adebayor is still at Arsenal…!

The transfer fee for Adebayor has hit quotes of more than £30 million and to be honest you have to ask yourself if any player is really worth £30 million!?? I mean the whole Ronaldo, United, Real Madrid thing is also totally crazy with hints of £80 million being toughted about.

As I’ve already said more then once - AC Milan After Adebayor - Milan’s Inter and AC have said that Adebayor is their top target this summer and according to Mr Super Agent, Wenger will not OK Adebayor’s exit until a replacement for him has been signed…This could, of course, be an absolute load of rubbish designed to throw more speculation on Adebayor’s furture at Arsenal, and so the media merry-go-round continues..!

Morabito, the Italian super agent told a TV show; “Arsenal are looking for Adebayor’s replacement,”

“The names being talked about are Peter Crouch, Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz and Germany forward Mario Gomez.

“Until that search is over, the negotiations won’t reach the final stage, but I am fairly optimistic.

“What are the chances of Adebayor joining Milan? At this stage, we are at 70 per cent to 80 per cent.”

I just hope future and current Arsenal players don’t use the club as a springboard to huge wage rises and stupid offers from foriegn clubs that seem to be easily able to pay crazy transfer fees and wages. How long can they keep this up!?

Arshavin at Arsenal!?

OK it’s only speculation at the moment but it looks like Arsene Wenger has expressed an interest in Andrei Arshavin the Russian and Zenit St Petersburg player.

Andrei Arshavin

According to the Daily Express Wenger said “The eye is always looking at who can strengthen Arsenal.”

“You always think, ‘could this player play for your team?’ or perhaps there is a good player you didn’t know.”

“Mainly I would say that you discovered only Russian players at this tournament because you see them playing less. All the others you know.”

As I said it’s a long way off but I think Arshavin would fit very nicely in our beautiful game!

There is apparantly a £10 million clause in Arshavin’s contract but I’d guess that will be just the starting point if other premiership clubs get involved or are already interested…

AC Milan after Adebayor

AC Milan have confirmed that Adebayor is their main transfer target this summer and they’re trying to begin negotiations with Arsenal.

Vice president for Milan Adriano Galliani told the french sports newspaper L’Equipe “If Adebayor doesn’t come then nobody will come.”

“We are in negotiations but Arsenal are unwilling to sell at the moment. We’ll see how far we can get with our offer.”

Ac Milan are after quite a few players including Drogba, Berbatov, Eto’o and Adebayor - but now, apparantly, their sole focus is with landing Adebayor. Of course we’re not likely to want to sell him especially considering his 30 goals in 48 games. At least we have some confort in the fact that Adebayor has said he doesn’t want to leave. But if Ronaldo’s anything to go by that can mean nothing!

Unfortunately reports are suggesting that Milan will pursue Arsenal until they’re 100% sure we cannot be convinced to sell.

Aaron Ramsey is a Gunner

Last week Aaron Ramsey completed his move to Arsenal from Cardiff City for £5 million.

We beat Manchester United and Everton to land the 17 year old from Wales. He’s signed a long term deal after meeting with Arsene Wenger at Euro 2008 in Switzerland.

Ramsey said: “He was a big factor in my decision to join Arsenal, I’m so happy to have signed for Arsenal.”

“Arsene talked to me for a long time about the club and the plans for the future, which really excites me,” said Ramsey.

“Arsenal is a club which always gives young players an opportunity at the highest level of the game and I am going to work my hardest to be part of future successes here.”

“It was a really difficult decision to leave Cardiff City, they are my local club with great supporters and I would just like thank everyone at Cardiff City for their support and help in my early career.”

“I will still look out for their results and there will always be a place in my heart for the Bluebirds.”

£32 million Adebayor reported to be AC Milan’s top transfer target

AC Milan are rumoured to have already targetted Chelsea’s Didier Drogba and Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o, after boss Carlo Anceotti turned down the opportunity to mangage Chelsea…

Adebayor £32 million AC Milan target?

Now the Italian press are speculating, not only that Anceotti is going to target Adebayor but that he’s also agreed terms with them! Adebayor scored 24 goals in the Premier League for us last season and I’m sure Wenger see’s him as an important part of the team.

Hopefully the £32 million price tag will put Milan off, we cannot allow another top player to leave, simple as that.
