Almunia’s back in the Arsenal squad to face Everton!

All Arsenal fans will be praying that nothing untoward happens to Wojciech Szczesny in the next couple of weeks, as Arsene Wenger has confirmed that both Lukasz Fabianski and the hapless Vito Mannone were both injured in Greece in midweek.

Wenger was discussing the problems to come out of the Champions League defeat, and also confirmed that Arsenal are waiting for specialist tests on Andre Santos’ ankle.

He said: “Santos has an ankle injury so he is out. He will see a specialist in the coming days. Mannone and Fabianski are both out. Mannone has a shoulder problem, he saw a specialist on Thursday night. Fabianski has a nasty cut on his knee.

“Almunia will be back in the squad.

“Everybody else who was out there in Greece looks available, and the players who stayed at home are available as well.”

So it looks like Arsenal will have four centre-backs spread along the back line in front of Szczesny, and we could do with no more injuries to defenders… or Szczesny!
