It was not all good news for Arsenal this week, despite the delight at beating Bayern Munich and getting the Champions League campaign back on track. Aaron Ramsey had to be replaced by a suspected hamstring strain and now his lengthy absence has been confirmed by the latest injury update on the official Arsenal website.

Arsene Wenger revealed, “He had a scan today but he’s out. I believe he will be out until after the next international break. With the [last] international break, the fact that he played against Andorra certainly cost Bale and him as well.”

Gareth Bale is in big trouble with the Real Madrid supporting Spanish press for playing against Andorra because he was not 100 percent fit and Wales had already sealed qualification to Euro 2016 and even though Ramsey was not carrying a niggling injury, I´m sure that the Arsenal boss would have hoped for him to be rested.

Ramsey had been playing 90 minutes of every game for Arsenal and so with hindsight it would have made sense to give him a break against Andorra. Having said that I am sure he wanted to play and the fact that he scored seemed like a good thing for Arsenal at the time, so it seems a bit churlish to now blame Wales for Ramsey´s hamstring problem don´t you think?
