If Arsenal do try to complete the transfer of this talented and prolific striker in the January transfer window, but are beaten to it by one of the other big clubs said to be keen, such as La Liga and Champions Leagie holders Barcelona, then Arsenal fans will not have a lot to complain about.

But if Arsene Wenger comes out with the tired old phrase about there not being any players available and that he is working 24 hours a day in vain to find anyone, then we will be perfectly within our rights to have a good old moan and break out the ‘spend some f**ckin money’ banners.

Because a Metro report confirms that the Celta Vigo and Spain international star Nolito, who has stalled on signing the new contract that his current club have on the table, has a release clause in his current deal which is less than £13 million.

Nolito has been in fine goal scoring form this season and can play anywhere along the front line and his tachnical ability would make him a great addition to the Gunners. He is also available to play in Europe, if we manage to get through and for that price he is an absolute steal, so Wenger must at least try to sign him, as the reports suggest that the Arsenal boss will do. We will see….
