Arsenal managed to extend the contract of Nico Yennaris, the 18 year old English youth International defender. He is one of the club’s biggest prospects due to the large area in the field he manages to cover. He is comfortable playing in any of the defensive roles and could even cover a midfielder role if asked to.

The club’s official website stated:

“Everyone at Arsenal Football Club looks forward to Nico’s continued contribution in the coming years.”

The 18-year-old made his official debut for The Gunners against Bolton last month in Arsenal’s 2-1 win in the Carling Cup, and he is a regular in the Reserve team. Against Bolton he covered the right-back position and did it brilliantly proving that he might be one of the club’s most important young players.

The most important contract which needs to be extended at the moment is that of Dutch striker Robin Van Persie, but the current English Premier League top scorer is still hesitant and he is delaying the extension.
