I have to say that I am shocked that Arsenal actually have made a bid for Luis Suarez. It was reported by several untrustworthy sources and because of a flurry of bets in Spain that Arsenal had made an approach for him but it seemed to be another one of those strange rumours that everybody thinks, no way. That’s like backing Arsenal with a 11/1 bet on Premier League William Hill lol!
But now the BBC are reporting that Liverpool have rejected a £30M bid and there is no media source more trustworthy than BBC Sport. They only report true stories on their website and reserve transfer “gossip” for a special page that marks the source who made up the story.
I really do find it unbelievable and kind of good that Arsenal have made a bid so big for Suarez. I find it unbelievable that Arsene Wenger would make a bid for somebody with attitude problems, and who has had so much trouble with other players in the Premier League, especially Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovich!.
Can we be sure that he wouldn’t cause that much trouble at Arsenal?
On the other hand it’s good that Wenger is making £30M bids for world class strikers and fulfilling the club’s promise to spend big this summer. Gonzalo Higuain should still be on his way and imagine the partnership of Higuain and Suarez. When the Champions League comes by and Arsenal inevitably get Barcelona, instead of the commentators talking about the margin of Barcelona’s victory, they will talk about how they are going to possibly handle Higuain and Suarez.
Arsenal’s forwards will be feared throughout the world like the days of Henry and Bergkamp.
It is still unclear what actually is going on with these players. Higuain’s transfer keeps stalling and there is no progress, Suarez could still be holding out for a move to Real Madrid and may reject Arsenal if they follow him further.
What do you think Arsenal fans, is it madness that Arsenal have actually made a record bid for Suarez?
