Danny Welbeck has dome pretty well since he signed for Arsenal back on transfer deadline day, especially when you consider that he had been given very little opportunity to play in his new centre forward role during his time as a Manchester United player.

So even though he has missed a few chances and has not always had the heavy influence on a game that we might hope, the Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger have got plenty of patience with him, especially as we have the Chile international Alexis Sanchez chipping in with goals and playing very well.

Still though, the news reported by Arsenal.com that our big French striker Olivier Giroud is way ahead of schedule in his race to be fit again is a major plus point for the Gunners. The manager was clearly delighted as he gave tyhe latest injury update, not only because we will have another important player back, but as it is one more piece of evidence that the club is getting it right on the medical side of things.

Wenger said, “[He is doing] very well. He’s three weeks ahead of schedule and I think he will join in normal training after the international break.

“Yes of course [it’s a big boost]. He’s miles ahead of schedule.”

So it looks like we might get to see the big man back in action before the end of the year and maybe even as part of a strike pairing with Welbeck.
