Whether you think it was bad luck, or the fault of the injury and fitness staff at Arsenal combined with Arsene Wenger overplaying certain players, there is no doubt that the crippling amount of injuries the Gunners had to deal with last season had a direct and negative effect on our title challenge.

With a new couple of medical experts recruited this summer, along with a stronger squad and lessons learned, we were all hoping that this season would see the Arsenal treatment room a lot less crowded. However, it is already starting to look like King’s Cross station.

According to physioroom.com, the Gunners already have seven players on the sidelines with various injury problems, and that does not include the habitual absentee Abou Diaby.

Mikel Arteta is going to have a scan on his ankle today, but it is looking like the Spaniard will not be available again before the international break in September. With the likes of Walcott, Gibbs and Sanogo also missing, Arsenal could well be out of the Champions League next week.

And with a really tough away game against Everton at the weekend, our injury list is already starting to be a concern. Only Man United have more players on the injury list and if you add Diaby to ours (you might as well) then we have the same number. Is it going to be the same old story for Arsenal this season?

  1. I wonder if Wenger ever value the work a player will do in the club if bought. Has he forgotten that the club has four competition to partake in every season?
Qualitative or Star players are never going to be too many for a club of arsenal status.
We are tired of flimsy excuses at the end of each season about being short due to injuries.
Wenger, whether you like or not the club needs a Striker, DM, and CD.
Apology, Giroud is not the type of striker to lead Arsenal attack, he should be a backup striker.
