Arsenal Looking To Transfer New Full-Backs

Arsenal are officially on the market for a couple of full-backs after club officials confirmed that left full-back Andre Santos will have to undergo surgery.

“Arsenal Football Club can confirm that, following investigations and subsequent medical opinions by club specialists, left-back Andre Santos will have surgery to repair ligament damage in his right ankle sustained in the game against Olympiakos last week,” read the statement released on the club’s official website.

“Andre will have surgery in Brazil this week and is expected to be out for around three months.

“Everyone at the club wishes him well.”

Santos will probably be out for at least 3 months and will follow in Wilshere’s footsteps who also had to undergo ankle surgery earlier this year. Wenger now has a big problem with Sanga and Santos both with long term injuries and Jenkinson or Gibbs not yet ready to play at such a high level.

Who do you think should Wenger go for the full-back position in January? Any ideas?

  1. i think there’s no certaintly idea above my own, as for me mr.wenger should go for Ac milan to talk a big deal on taiwo, whom was repordly must exit from their team this window, i think we must go for him

  2. van der weil and baines, then sell squillaci and djourou bringing in cahill and vertonghen……awesome

  3. Taiwo wants to leave ac Milan. Bastos can play both at left back and as a winger. Baines is decent but will probably be very expensive. A big problem is that a lot of the best players are cup-tied. What about Wayne bridge on a loan?
