Robert Mirosavic is not exactly a household name but he is only 17-years old. He is captain of Sweden’s under-17 team and has scored 4 goals from midfield in his 14 games for them. Helsingborg have let the young winger go to Benfica after a number of teams including Arsenal, Manchester City and Sunderland took him on trial.

Arsene Wenger and Roberto Mancini were impressed with what they saw but both have lost the chance to sign Mirosavic permanently. Arsenal and City offered the player the opportunity to train with the respective squads, but that was not enough according to Talksport.

He has now earned himself a three year deal with the Portuguese side, but I think that Arsenal will be keeping a close eye on his progress. The money involved between Helsingborg and Benfica is only around £100,000, and the player, if he realizes his potential, could make the Portuguese side a tidy profit in the future.

Of course, Arsenal has it’s own very successful youth system and perhaps Arsene Wenger thought he should concentrate on his own youngsters.
