It looks as though the Arsenal manager’s search for a striker to help out the much criticised France international Olivier Giroud will have to go on, as we appear to have missed out on the Celta Vigo and Spain star Nolito and the fact that Arsene Wenger was in the running for the 29-year old at all was because the Leicester City and England forward Jamie Vardy has apparently rejected the chance to join Arsenal.

Even worse than us missing out on yet another striker transfer, according to a report by The Mirror, is the fact that Nolito will be playing for our Premier League rivals Man City instead.

The sought after striker spent three years at Barcelona early on in his career and they just happen to have been the years when the new City boss Pep Guardiola was making his name as the most successful Barca boss in the club’s history. And it would appear that this is the reason for the Gunners missing out, because the transfer fee of just £14 million due to a release clause in his contract is well within our spending power.

It also looks like we will not be getting Alvaro Morata as Real Madrid want too much money, so just who will Wenger end up with?
