Arsenal planning January raid for unhappy Real Madrid star

You would think that, with Karim Benzema being under investigation by the police in Spain, Rafael Benitez would be keen to get his young backup Jese involved as much as possible, especially as he has already scored twice in a measly four appearances this season.

But no, good old Rafa decided to leave him on the bench until the final 10 minutes, opting instead to play Gareth Bale as the central striker as Real Madrid ended up losing to Valencia.

So it is no surprise that the Spain U21 international is becoming disillusioned with his new boss and the Express is now reporting that Arsene Wenger is aiming to take advantage of his unhappiness by putting in a 30m Euro bid for the talented youngster in January.

In the summer, Wenger stubbornly decided that with Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud were enough for Arsenal to mount a challenge for the title, but we have been one more injury away from disaster for the last month. Danny Welbeck continues suffering setbacks and is now not due to back until the New Year, but considering he only scored four goals last season he will surely be a last-resort centre forward. Theo Walcott rarely even plays half a season, and his latest injury was supposed to recover during the international beak, but ominously wasn’t mentioned in Wenger’s last injury update.

It is obvious that we really need another top class striker, and Jese is young enough and talented enough to be exactñy what we need. Should Wenger go for him?
