Now that the France national team has been knocked out of the World Cup, Arsenal fans are hoping that at least one of their players will soon be on their way to the Emirates, as the Gunners have been linked with Karim Benzema, Loic Remy and the two Mathieu’s; Valbuena and Debuchy.

From the latest transfer rumours, it looks like the 28-year old right back is the most likely. The fact that he has edged our former defender, Bacary Sagna, out of the France starting line-up should tell you all you need to know about the quality of Debuchy, so it is no surprise that he is looking to move up from Newcastle and the fact that Arsenal have our usual Champions League place means we have seen off interest from Tottenham.

But, according to The Daily Star, the French clubs PSG and Monaco have shown some late interest in the Frenchman. However, Wenger is apparently confident that he will get his man and some media sources have reported that the move is already agreed with a transfer fee of around £10-12 million being talked about.

Hopefully we will hear some good and concrete news on this quality signing in the next few days, but one man who will not be as happy as the rest of us Arsenal fans is Carl Jenkinson. The Gunners need a back up, of course, but the young Englishman needs to play more often to progress his career. It could be decision time for him soon…
