The good news for Arsenal fans is that our Spanish international right back appears to happy with his life as a Gunner, for now at least. It does not take a great feat of memory for Gooners to recall the bad old days when we seemed unable to hold on to our best players, though, so maybe we should be worried about the transfer interest in Hector Bellerin.

It was bad enough when we kept seeing Arsenal transfer rumours suggesting that Bellerin’s boyhood club FC Barcelona were keeping track of the former La Masia academy defender and had put him on their list of possible replacements for the Brazilian star Dani Alves, who moved to Serie A to play for Juventus this summer.

Now The Mirror says that our Premier League rivals Man City are also thinking about trying to sign Bellerin and apparently the Spanish media have heard from a source close to the young Gunner that he is flattered by the interest, especially as it comes from the former Barca boss Pep Guardiola.

This source is supposed to have told them, “He is happy at Arsenal… but the option of City exists, it pleases him and what’s more, Pep [Guardiola] is there.”

There is no indication yet of any bid coming in for Bellerin or that he would try to force a move away from Arsenal but do you think we should be worried?
