Arsenal starting XI for Chelsea with Ozil AND Cazorla!

Most Arsenal fans are expecting a tough game against Chelsea today but we are also feeling more confident that Arsene Wenger can finally end his run against Jose Mourinho and get his first victory over his rival. But if it is to be lucky 13 for the Frenchman, he will have to work out how to get through the big blue bus that Chelsea will bring to north London.

For me, the Gunners do have the tools and will need our creative players to outfox the power of Chelsea and that is why I think that Wenger will start with Mesut Ozil in a wide forward role rather than Danny Welbeck, with Santi Cazorla in the central attacking midfield role.

The Spaniard and the German can and probably will swap positions during the game, with Alexis Sanchez as well, and that should give the Chelsea defenders real problems. Arsenal will have to beware of the quick Chelsea counter and so Aaron Ramsey will have to be disciplined and not push too far forward and leave Coquelin exposed.

Ospina
Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal
Ramsey, Coquelin
Ozil, Cazorla, Alexis
Giroud

Is this the right Arsenal starting line up to inflict a long awaited defeat on the smuggest man in world football?

  1. Chelsea will pack the bus as usual and try long unorthodox forward passes in the hope of finding an unmarked player. Arsenal need to avoid silly errors and blunders to win this game.

  2. If chelsea think it will be “Arsenal as Usual”, that will be their greatest error. I agree with your predicted line-up but its up to Ramsey to run back to assist Bellerin and Coquelin. If Gunners can stay focused, defending in unity like we did with the two Manchester games, I can confidently tell Mourinho and his boys: “This is a new Arsenal, its another day.”
