This pacy and prolific striker was one of the players that Arsenal were most heavily linked with in the run up to and during the January transfer. And the Gabon international star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the man that the Arsenal fans hoped would join the club to give us the extra fire power to boost our challenge for the Premier League title.

Instead the player stayed with his current club Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga where they currently sit in second place. The chances of them making up the eight point gap to leaders Bayern Munich are pretty long though and even though Dortmund look sure to be in the Champions League, the smart money says that they will struggle to hold on to all of their top players.

With an amazing record of 29 goals from 28 starts and two sub appearances this season, Aubameyang is certainly one of them but according to Metro the Arsenal fans need not get our hopes up because our big spending Premier League rivals Manchester United are ready to pounce with a massive transfer bid.

If this move is primarily agreed by money then the Gunners are bound to miss out, but if we can keep going and lift the Premier League trophy in May and if United fail to secure a place in the UCL for next year then do we still have a chance to sign the brilliant striker?
