Over the last couple of summer transfer windows, Arsene Wenger has broken spending records with his signings and it looks like that is just what will happen again this year. The Frenchman is apparently planning to beat last summer´s splashing of the cash by spending the best part of £100 million to bring in the four players he believes will turn the Gunners from also rans into Premier League champions.

The report in Metro that details the manager’s plans explains that Arsenal are looking to sign Jackson Martinez from Porto to boost our firepower and give the boss a different option again to Giroud and Walcott.

Wenger is also looking to bring in a keeper, most likely Petr Cech, to help us to tighten up at the back, while the engine room of the team is going to get a double boost, with both Arturo Vidal and Morgan Schneiderlin being targetd. All in all these four players are likely to cost around £85 million, a new Arsenal record.

It is still dwarfed by the £150 million being handed to Louis van Gaal by Man United but will it be enough for us to win the Premier League?

  1. Yes, most definitely.

Those 4 signings are exactly what we need, I wouldn’t want any other players but those four mentioned. Virdal Sanchez partnership will bring out the best of the two, Martinez very consistent and a goal poacher in all competions need I say champions league. Cech well thats 15 points already as well as coaching ospina and szesny. Schneiderlin french also will fit in and him and Coq against tough opposition will be a masterclass. Unlike chelsea we will park the bus yes but we will also drive the bus as well.

  2. Arsenal need only to strengthen in 3 departments in my on view. The Left Back, the DM and the Right wing are the areas that are most needing re-enforcement in the summer to sustain the summer campaign successfully. Let us take note that Arsenal already have a 25 man team registered with the FA. For Arsenal to sign in the 3 new players, they will need to sell some Gunners or loan some out. Arsenal already have almost a balance team last season who just missed out on the 2nd place finish in the table by 4 points. If the Gunners are more serious right from the first 10 BPL games they will play in the coming season without dropping a point, they would be setting a good platform for themselves on which they can build on to maintain consistency to keep the momentum going to the very end to win the much eluded title in 11 years.

  4. I disagree, we need those 4 signings if we want to compete on all four fronts. We don’t need a left back, we don’t need a right wing we have ox and walcott and Ramsey and wilshere and even bellerin can play there, dm yes we do need. Podolski is out which will give u the three u say we need. Arsenal 4 life I feel we have built an excellent team and we are now ready to do big things, but those 4 signings mentioned will make us world beaters. Come on you gooners. One love.
