Arsenal to sign top Belgian striker to replace Van Persie?

It is being widely reported this morning that Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in yet another top striker this summer if Robin Van Persie continues to refuse to sign a contract extension.

The Mail reports that he is eyeing up the top Belgian hitman Kevin Mirallis, who was the Player-Of-The-Year as well as the League’s top scorer in Greece last season as Olympiakos won the SuperLeague and Greek Cup Double.

Despite his high rating, it seems Mirallis will be available for under 7million GBP which has led to many top European clubs sending scouts to check out his abilities, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

The 24 year-old Belgian international can play as lone striker or on the wing, which always appeals to Wenger, and the fact that he spent his early years playing in France with Lille and St. Etienne will not be held against him by the Arsenal manager!

Mirallis record of 34 goals in just 52 League appearances for Olympiacos looks good, but whether he could transfer that form to the English Premier League remains to be seen, but surely he looks to be value as a third-choice striker?

  1. Please let’s try and convince rvp to stay and add more trike force to compete in the epl, we don’t want to loose our best players but add more experience players to the squard and am sure we’ll get silver ware this season.

    1. Its your birthday Robin Van Persie- to celebrate announce you are staying-with new signings Arsenal looking good!!!!!!

  2. I have a gut feeling that RVP will stay. the Greek league is not particularly strong and it would take a while for Mirallis to settle in.
