The pressure from the Arsenal fans on Arsene Wenger to start matching the transfer spending of Premier League rivals like Man United and Chelsea has been around for years but it has definitely intensified over the course of this season as the usual injury crisis hit and Wenger’s decision not to sign any players really cost us.
I am not really sure whether the Frenchman takes much notice of the pressure from Arsenal fans but he must surely have seen that he needs to strengthen the squad to have a real chance of the Premier League title next season. According to The Sun he is already on the ball and appears to have already sealed the deal for one big signing in the summer, the Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The pacy and talented midfielder has apparently told friends that he is set to leave his Bundesliga club at the end of the season and the Gunners are heavily tipped to be his next club. And the news that the 27-year old Armenian has been house hunting in London is another big indication that Mkhitaryan will be playing for Arsenal next year.
Who else would you like to see Wenger sign?
