Arsenal v Everton – Which German(s) should Wenger play today?

0

Arsene Wenger is likely to stick to his match-fit players in tonight’s Premier League game at Everton as Arsenal’s German contingent will not be up to scratch since coming back from the World Cup late, but he has admitted that he mat start one or two tonight.

“They are part of the squad and, of course, they are important players,” said Wenger.

“How will I use them? Certainly not the three together because they lack a competitive edge. Will I use one or two? I don’t know yet.”

The fact is that if you had to choose just one German who would it be? Per Mertesacker will probably be favourite to start for the Gunners as he is going to be running the least of three, and is hardly very fast even when fully fit!

Mesut Ozil would probably be the most needed to create chances for the fitter players, but Podolski is hardly likely to start even if fully fit, although he has a great goalscoring record when he is on the pitch?

So which one would you want to see start against Everton?
