Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger set eyes on future star defensive midfielder Steven N’Zonzi. According to The Sun the Professor wants to steal him from Premiership side Blackburn Rovers.

N’Zonzi is with the Rovers since 2009 and he played 73 matches since. He’s considered to be one of the best prospects of Premiership Football and up until the last year he was an important part of France’s U-21 squad, but has yet to claim his spot in the senior squad.

N’Zonzi is a massive player who would surely make a great pair with Song or could be the perfect substitute for him as well.

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old Wenger is also targeting other players he could use on the same position and one of the main candidates for the job is Ajax’s Jan Vertonghen.

N’Zonzi joined Rovers for little over £500.000, but now he’s valued around £10 million so the defensive midfielder would bring an important amount to the club’s account if the move will go through.

Arsenal is not the only team interested as Chelsea and Aston Vila are also trailing the Frenchman and might submit a transfer fee in January.
