Now this could be an interesting line-up this evening as I am sure that Wenger may do a little tweaking to give some of the fringe players a run-out, in a game that Arsenal could surely win even if Wenger only played his youth team.
In fact if any Wigan fans are looking for a win tonight, then they would be better off staying at home playing blackjack online rather than going to the game!
So I don’t think there is any chance of Wenger resting Szczesny so poor Fabianski will have to carry on seething on the bench. As for the defence, it is highly likely that Djourou will retain his place while Koscielny is out, and will partner Vermaelen in the centre.
Wenger has said that Gibbs is 80% likely to be fit for this game, so I reckon he will play the youngster and give Santos a rest. Jenkinson is also fit but Sagna is also pretty much a certain starter, I don’t think that Wenger will risk more changes at the back unless the game is tied up very quickly and he can come on as sub.
In midfield, Yossi Benayoun has been extremely impressive in big games, but as he can’t face Chelsea at the weekend I think Wenger will certainly start him today on the wing instead of Gervinho. Walcott and Van Persie are irreplaceable at the moment, as I think Song and Arteta are behind them. The one remaining place is a bit more difficult to predict but I see Wenger staying faithful to Ramsey (ahead of Rosicky) as he tries to play the Welshman into regaining his confidence.
Okay thats my predictions. What are yours?
