It certainly feels like a bit of a disappointment for Arsenal fans today, as we reflect on the 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the north London derby. The Gunners were unable to turn our superior passing and possession into all three points, making it four stalemates from the six Premier League games so far.

Arsenal really need to start turning those draws into wins if we are to have any hope of keeping up with the leaders Chelsea and the mounting injury crisis is starting to become a serious worry, just like last season, with Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere joining their team mates in the Arsenal treatment room.

But it was not all doom and gloom for the Gunners. When you don’t win a game, it is always encouraging if, at least, you put in a good performance and there is no doubt that we were the better team at the Emirates stadium yesterday. With nearly 70 percent of possession and nearly three times as many shots, better passing and more chances, we should have made it count but we did get back into the game after unluckily going behind.

And in the grand scheme of things that point might prove vital, as it keeps us ahead of our local rivals and somehow keeps us in fourth spot in the table. However, with Chelsea already six points ahead, it is imperative that we perform well at Stamford Bridge next weekend and come away with at least a point. But how likely is that?

  1. Arsenal will shortly move into 2nd place – behind Man. City – in total wage bill. And yet we remain an easy club to get a result against. Perhaps remaining Arsene fans would like to explain why ?

  2. Keep telling your self that the lie that at least we were the better side 69% of possession and only one goal to show from to again come back from defeat to end in a stalemate to me does not a better team make Also keep saying you can’t have three players in each position cause they are just ad hard to manage as only purchasing 1 player to act as cover for center back and right back positions. In the past few years we have rid ourselves of Bendtner Nenilson Park Squillaci but still manage to fork out money on Diaby who hasn’t played a competitive game for Arsenal for over 2 years now and on the eve of his return gets injured. Is the red and white of North London comparable to the red and white of the Red Cross. We settle each year for forth best and last year when we had a glimpse of glory we didn’t have the depth of class coming off the bench. Will Campbell’s career get killed at Arsenal sitting on the bench or we just keeping him as a souvenir. Arsenal’s better team performances don’t amount to Jack we dont win and although its early days yet I can see glimpses of yesteryears when we were knee deep in injuries to our first team players having to cope with our supposed prodigies from the academy as back up only to end off another consistently disappointing Season.
