There was not a lot of signs of improvement from the Arsenal players on the Emirates pitch against Hull yesterday, with a last gasp goal from Danny Welbeck only enough to rescue a point. Our bluntness in front of goal matched with our lapses at the back was typical of what we have been seeing from Arsenal so far this season.

But there is a strong argument that a lot of our troubles have come about because of the long injury list. Any team is going to miss players of the calibre of Walcott, Ramsey, Giroud, Koscielny and now Ozil, but if there was not much encouragement on the pitch yesterday, the situation off it is more promising.

First of all there is good news on Jack Wilshere, with Wenger telling Arsenal.com that the midfielder is fine and will be available for the trip to face Anderlecht in the Champions League. Then we had Ramsey making his return and Arteta on the bench in case we needed him.

Walcott, Gnabry and Diaby all played for the under 21s on Friday so you would think they could soon be back in the first team. And Yaya Sanogo is supposed to be very close to a comeback, while Giroud and Ozil’s return dates are closer than previously thought.

This could not happen sooner and will hopefully start giving us some good news on the pitch as well. We sure need it!

  1. Yes but sadly we will suffer the same Manager for another 3 years. Then he may well accept a seat on the Board of Directors and continue to control the whole bloody club !
