The news that Arsenal will definitely not be completing the transfer of Karim Benzema from Real Madrid is definitely bad news for us. Despite all the recent positive Arsenal transfer rumours about him though, it is not really a big surprise.

And the good news is that Benzema has totally ruled out the move with a week still left of the summer transfer window and that means that Arsene Wenger still has enough time to bring another top class striker into the Arsenal squad.

The two players most likely to joining, according to today’s papers, are the Uruguay and PSG striker Edinson Cavani, who is said to be not too happy at the French club and is not getting on with his manager Laurent Blanc. Metro reports that Wenger is planning a bold £42 million swoop for the powerful and prolific centre forward.

Another report by Metro is linking us with a possible move for the Bayern Munich and Poland star Robert Lewandowski, backing it up with his being left out of the starting XI by Pep Guardiola at the weekend. Do you think that we might be able to get either of these players to north London in the next week? Which one would you prefer?
