Cazorla’s Move To Arsenal Blocked?

Spanish side Malaga’s manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that there is an offer from Arsenal for Santi Cazorla, but despite the fact that the Gunners are highly interested in bringing him to London, the coach claims that the move isn’t going to happen according to the club’s officials.

“There is an offer, they say, for Santi Cazorla,” he said.

“To sell him for €20 million would be to give him away. I don’t think the club intends to do that.

“I’ve talked a lot with [vice-president] Abdullah Ghubn and with the Sheikh and this would not be representative of their mentality. It would send out the wrong signal ahead of our Champions League campaign.

“If significant offers come in for players they are worthy of consideration, but I don’t think Santi will be leaving for €20 million.”

Arsene Wenger is still looking to bring a couple of top attacking midfielders to the club, and Cazorla seemed to be the most likely to join after the Gunners lost the chase for Montpellier’s Younes Belhanda. Barcelona’s Afellay can still be an option but there’s nothing certain for the moment. Who do you think would be the best to join?

  1. Of the 3 cazorla is undpubtedly the best. belhanda and affellay have.yet to really prove themselves outside of france and holland. no disrespect to those 2 leagues but they are not in the same class as england spain germany and italy. i put france holland portugal turkey in the next group probably on a par with the champipnship or may be marginally better but not much in it.

  2. My only question is “where is the break point”? If it is a matter of another one or two million and he is considered worth it then make a revized bid. If on the other hand Malaga test Arsenal with a unacceptable demand, look elsewhere.

  3. Malaysia will eventualy sell at tht pricecos they’ve got big debt tht they need to pay off by the end of the month. Definitely expecting this transfer to go through

  4. I tink wat Arsene Wenger ɪ̣̝̇ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ doin ɪ̣̝̇ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ †ђά̲̣̥† he ɪ̣̝̇ƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇ tryin too wait till July 31st cos by Then if Malaga does not pay up salaries Owe ðε̲γ wud be removed from the Champions League and also Relegated From the La Liga.

  5. ligue 1 is a very competitive league its very insulting of you to compare it to the championship look at the clubs and stadiums in ligue 1 they’re pretty big. and just warning you psg this season has one of the strongest attack force (zlatan, menez, lavezzi, pastore, nene, gamiero)

  6. It’s a strange one. Malaga bought him for 18.75m pounds thanks to their rich Sheikh owner and now that they have qualified for the ECL he has stopped supporting them financially leading to the possibility of them getting relegated due to unpaid debts. If the Sheikh sits back and lets them collapse Arsenal can probably get Cazorla but it doesn’t make sense to me.

  7. I think carzola deserve the amount but wenger should not play with our intelligence by always keeping us on suspence…i thought the deal is meant to seal up today but yet no seriouse deal only unecessary rumours of we linking with A̶̲̥̅ baby footballer or unknown dudes
