Did Sissoko agent just reveal Arsenal transfer contact?

Arsenal have been linked with the possible transfer of the France international star Moussa Sissoko ever since he made his name as an exciting young midfielder for the Ligue 1 club Toulouse. The Arsenal transfer rumours kept coming after he signed for Newcastle United and quickly established himself as a Premier League star.

And because the Frenchman has made no secret of being an Arsenal fan since boyhood it was always thought that he would make the move to north London as long as Arsene Wenger wanted him in the Arsenal squad, so when the Magpies were relegated to the Championship at the end of last season the Gunners were reported as his most likely destination.

That might still be true although his impressive games for France at Euro 2016 may not have helped Sissoko to achieve his dream move because Newcastle have reacted to them by slapping a massive £35 million transfer fee on their player.

As reported by Metro this move has not gone down well with Sissoko or his agent who as well as suggesting that the club has gone back on a previous agreement has revealed that there has already been contact with other clubs over a summer transfer.

He said, ‘We do not understand.

‘It was agreed that Moussa stayed one more season at Newcastle to help the team.

‘He did the best he could. The club has always said Moussa could leave for between £15.2m and £21.1m maximum.

‘We hope that Rafael Benitez and the president will be more reasonable about Moussa’s future.

‘He has always been loyal, he has always respected the club, the fans. There are clubs who came to us and the club [Newcastle]. We are fully aware of their approaches.

‘We want everything to go well.’

Is he talking about Arsenal do you think? Will Sissoko be a Gunner by the end of this transfer window or not?
