There is a bit of news about Edinson Cavani that could mean that Arsenal have played an absolute blinder in the run up to the January transfer window. The Gunners have long been linked with a transfer swoop for the talented striker and according to a Daily Express report, his current club PSG may finally have agreed to let him come to the Premier League and play for Arsenal.

The reason for this belief is threefold. It is common knowledge that the Uruguay international star is not happy at having to play second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovich at the French champions. And we also know that the manager Laurent Blanc’s transfer business has been restricted because of the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules which have seen them face the same sanctions as Man City.

And now Cavani has been left out of the French club’s trip away for warm weather training during the French winter break. And that has tongues wagging in France and the French media putting two and two together. But have they got four, or have they got it all messed up.

One thing is for sure; if Cavani does sign for Arsenal in January, I will be one very happy Gooner.

  1. I will be shocked to see Wenger signing Cavani, given that he bought Welbeck in the Summer and his strong desire to see Giroud play more games and succeed at Arsenal.
If he buys Cavani, it will make think either of these aforementioned could be sold in the summer transfer Market.

We rather need a strong and robust CDM.
