It is understandable that many Arsenal fans are so concerned about the poor run of results so far this season, with just two wins from eight Premier League games and an early exit from the Capital One Cup, that there is very little confidence that the Gunners can come back to north London with three Champions League points tonight.

And this belief has not been helped by the injury to the Colombian reserve keeper David Ospina, meaning that rookie Martinez is set to make his Champions League debut because of Wojciech Szczesny being suspended. But even though Laurent Koscielny has joined Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Mathieu Debuchy and others on the sidelines, Arsenal’s problems pale in comparison with those facing our opponents Anderlecht, as revealed in a Daily Star report.

The Belgian club do not have anywhere near the resources of Arsenal, so their own long injury list means that the manager Besnik Hasi will have to face the Gunners with two unfit and out of form strikers, with their £4 million record signing Aleksandr Mitrovic struggling with a weight problem and his strike partner Matias Suarez carrying a knee problem that caused him to fail a medical at CSKA Moscow this summer.

And they have just as many problems at the other end of the pitch, with just one fully fit and first choice defender available. So Arsenal have a great chance to take advantage. We can’t mess this one up can we?
