Eden Hazard wants Arsenal, but does Wenger want Hazard?

The Belgiam wizard Eden Hazard is obviously enjoying putting himself in the frame for a move to a top Premiership team and there have always been very good reasons for him to choose Arsenal over the rest.

After talking up a move to Tottenham earlier this week, he has moved to placate the Arsenal fans by saying that the Emirates is also a logical proposition. He said: “There are several clubs that interest me in England and Arsenal is really a part,”

“Of course, it’s always more fun when the football is beautiful. In addition, at Arsenal, there is a French coach and French players, as well as my compatriot Thomas Vermaelen.”

But the key part of that statement is the bit where he says “clubs that interest me” as opposed to “clubs that are interested in me”!

Arsene Wenger has continually, over many years, admitted his admiration for the Lille midfielder, but he also made it clear in his last statement about Hazard that it is more important for Arsenal to make a profit before investing millions in the transfer market.

Wenger said: “You should know that each season, it is imperative to show a profit of between fifteen and twenty million pounds,”

“I would add that the purpose of a coach is to always buy at a price he sees fit.

“I really like Hazard and for several reasons: it’s his creative power, his ability to mis-align the opponent, his vision of the game and his consummate skill to address the last pass which make him a very interesting player.

“Hazard has what it takes to play for a top-level club, and Arsenal are a top-level club.”

That makes it quite clear to me that Wenger would NEVER invest in a 30million plus player, as the old adage goes “Arsenal don’t buy stars, they make them.” So it is blindingly obvious Hazard will never come to the Emirates unless he appears on a Bosman!

  1. where has the profit of nasri and fabregas gone!! thats already profit for two years.. sell RVP to real madrid and get hazard, benzema or higuin and another midfielder..!! ramsey and rosicky are to slow for arsenals type of football.. losing faith..

  2. Why would Wenger change the way he manages? he has been consistent in getting us to the champions league. Wenger is not the one with the money, its the board, and if they dont give him the funds how can he buy more players, especially ones that are as good as hazard?
Arsenal are one of the only clubs in the premier league that are able to make a profit, and that means that we are one of the most legit clubs, we have proved time and time again that we dont need to buy players to sustain a top flight position in the premier league, give it another season and all of our ‘younger’ players will have grown not only in confidence but in skill and then everyone who doubted Wenger will look pretty stupid when we go and win every cup thats up for grabs!
