Arsenal fans were not exactly over the moon when the club announced the transfer of the young French striker Yaya Sanogo in the summer of 2013, as none of us had heard of him and he was not exactly pulling up trees for Auxerre in the French second division.

But despite his struggles to find the back of the net for Arsenal and a few injury setbacks to his career, Sanogo did have some good games and it was starting to look as though Arsene Wenger may have found a gem. After scoring four goals in a game during pre-season, the Frenchman notched his first competitive Gunners goal to help us beat Borussia Dortmund and qualify from our Champions League group.

With Theo Walcott joining Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud though, chances were linited and so hje went to the Dutch club Ajax on loan. We were hoping that playing in Holland and working with Bergkamp would help, but Sanogo has flopped badly. So much so that he is hardly playing and a Metro report reveals that the Dutch club are looking for a new striker to replace the young Gunner.

If he canĀ“t make it with Ajax, how on earth is he going to break into the Arsenal team? Do you think we will ever see him on the pitch for the Gunners again?
