Gervinho Worried That Van Persie Will Leave

Arsenal’s newly transferred striker Gervinho is now worried about the possibility of losing his teammate Robin Van Persie due to the Dutch striker’s attempts to delay the contract extension talks with the Gunners.

Robin still has a contract with Arsenal until the end of 2013, but the Gunners could lose him for a smaller fee than usual in the summer if he won’t extend his contract.

“I don’t want the sale of Robin van Persie. Arsenal is a team that needs good footballers and leaders on the field.

“Robin is a player who pushes companions to work harder and give more effort during matches. He is a dream to play with.

“Van Persie is the captain and the boss in the group, without doubt. I saw that from my first day at the club.

“For me, when opponents see Robin on the other side, it is a huge psychological blow. I am always happy playing with him.”

He added: “I am sorry I can’t help my [Gunners] team-mates but the Ivory Coast needs my collaboration. My country is very important and our challenge is to reach the final.”

Van Persie’s contract is becoming a worry for Wenger as well after the similar incidents with Samir Nasri, but the Frenchman is sure that Robin will eventually give in and extend his contract with the Gunners.

  1. RVP leaving will be a huge blow yet again, but I believe the man loves Arsenal and will extend his stay at The Emirates.

  2. Arsenal please don’t sell R.V.P it would be a bog loss on us. And the only arsenal problem is, The club doesn’t have respect for is players, and this really affecting the club.

  3. Arsene move ur arse n sign some world class players n show robin we can compete for title.
