Giroud scores and Arsenal win but has he joined injury list?

As soon as the Arsenal and France centre forward had scored in the 37th minute against Swansea City today at the Liberty Stadium the big striker was signalling to the bench that he needed to be subbed off as he had clearly picked up a knock.

Arsene Wenger did react and seemed about to replace him with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but then not only did he change his mind and leave Giroud on for the rest of the first half, he put him out again after the break and it was not until the hour mark that the Frenchman was finally hauled off.

You could see the medical staff treating the ankle straight away and I have to wonder what the boss was thinking. He later brought on Welbeck for Alexis Sanchez who was not happy and Wenger said that it was as a precaution but why leave Giroud on in that case when actually had a knock?

I am sure they thought the striker was alright to continue but how many times have we heard about players making injuries worse by playing on? With an already long injury list at Arsenal, was it really worth the risk?
