The summer transfer window could still hold some interest for Arsenal fans, with Arsene Wenger having hinted that he is still looking to strengthen the squad, especially on the defensive side of things. But according to the latetst Arsenal transfer rumours, we could soon have another top class forward at the Emirates as well, in the shape of Marco Reus.
The Germany and Borussia Dortmund star is one of the most exciting attacking players in Europe, but he unluckily missed out on winning the World Cup this summer after picking up an injury in the build up. That, according to a Metro report, is the only thing that stopped Arsenal signing him earlier on this summer, because the 25-year old had already held talks in London with the Gunners about his move to the Premier League.
Now he is fit again, it seems that Wenger is ready to complete the transfer, unless of course the signing of Alexis Sanchez was done as an alternative to Reus. It is more likely, though, that the German would come to play on the left and that would probably mean the end of the line at Arsenal for Lukas Podolski.
There are other clubs interested in the Dortmund star, but according to a Sky Sports report, both Manchester United and Athletico Madrid have already accepted defeat, so Arsenal fans could have some very good news to celebrate in the next week or so.
