Koscielny the BOSS leads Arsenal player ratings from Wembley win

I can see why the Ox was given the Man of the Match award on BT sport yesterday, as he did score a peach of a goal to give Arsenal the Community Shield trophy and Arsene Wenger the long awaited win over Jose Mourinho. There were also strong cases from Cazorla, Ramsey, Coquelin and Monreal but because of the way we dug in and defended our lead I think it should have gone to our beast of a centre back Laurent Koscielny.

Cech 8 – Commanding without too much to do.

Bellerin 7 – Improved but his passing was a bit wayward.

Mertesacker 7.5 – Lack of pace nearly got him in trouble.

Koscielny 9 – Fantastic aggression and tackling.

Monreal 8 – Very solid performance.

Coquelin 8 – Read the game well and snuffed Chelsea out.

Cazorla 8 – At the heart of all our play.

Ramsey 8 – Very good after a slow start.

Chamberlain 8 – Brilliant goal but was not always in the game.

Ozil 7.5 – Slightly below par.

Walcott 7 – Struggled against Chelsea defence without the right through balls.
