Italian giants Lazio admitted that they would be interested in the services of a top player like Arsenal’s winger Andrey Arshavin, but are worried that the move isn’t feasible due to the difficulty of landing such a good player.

According to Lazio’s sporting director Igil Tare, the Italian club would love to have such a quality winger aboard, but no official inquiries have been made and the transfer would probably be a difficult one to solve.

“Arshavin is a great player and I think everyone would like to have him in their squad,” he said.

“But I don’t think there is any chance of seeing him in a Lazio shirt.

“There are a number of reasons why it would be difficult. First of all, we have never spoken with Arsenal and secondly, perhaps more importantly, I don’t think the Gunners would want to part with a top player.”

Contraire to Tare’s beliefs, Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is looking to shake Arshavin who come July will only have one season left with the Gunners and at his age it’s unlikely that the two parties will come to another agreement, especially given Arshavin’s late form.
