Arsenal’s midfielder and playmaker Mikel Arteta offered a statement for the club’s official website after the game Arsenal won against Sunderland 2-1 on Sunday. According to Arteta Arsenal still has a big chance to fight for the title if they manage to get some consecutive wins behind them.

“If you are very consistent you get the results,” he told Arsenal.com

“We know that away from home we have the ability to nick points all the way through the league so it’s up to us.”

“We just have to keep doing what we are doing at home, winning every game and I am sure that is going to see us climb up the table quickly.”

“It’s a massive win and three points,” he added. “I think it got a bit complicated after the first 20 minutes when we could have been two or three-nil up.”

Since he came to the club this summer Arteta became a very important player for manager Arsene Wenger and he also managed to score his first goal in Arsenal’s defeat against Blackburn.

The next game Arsenal will have to deal with is the Champions League group stage clash with Olympique Marseille away from home on French territory. If Wenger’s team will be able to win the better part of the 6 points played for in the double against Marseille, Arsenal has a big chance to qualify through to the next round, but if they don’t it will be a very tough task for Wenger’s team.
