Mesut Ozil has obviously not enjoyed having to watch Arsenal from the sidelines for over two months, while the German international recovered from the knee injury picked up against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the start of October.

The play maker has been talking to Arsenal Player about his frustration and it is not just because he has been missing out on doing what he loves and does best, playing football.

Our record signing has revealed that it has also been hard work seeing the Gunners struggle to convert our good play into the points we deserve. That has been partly due to our failure to convert enough of the very good chances created but also the defensive weakness at the other end of the pitch.

But the German says he is very close to a comeback and that he is absolutely determined and confident that he can help the Gunners to really push on and put the problems right.

Ozil said, “I’m working every day to get myself fit and I’m on the right path now. It won’t be much too much longer before I’m back on the pitch. I hope to be back training with the whole team again as soon as possible.

“When you watch the games, we’ve dominated a lot of them but have conceded unnecessary goals. That can’t happen, because in the Premier League, every team is capable of beating one another.

“We have to get our points by playing the game our way… I’m convinced that we will finish the season near the top of the table.”

It is good to have Ozil ready to return, but with Santi Cazorla back in top form and the attacking side of our squad in very good shape, will Ozil find it hard to get back into the starting line-up?
