The Arsenal transfer rumours about the Real Madrid and Germany international midfielder seem to be growing all the time, so according to the old adage that there is no smoke without fire, there is definitely something going on behind the scenes.

But the Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti recently declared that he would not sanction the sale of his player in January even thought it meant that the La Liga club would receive nothing when he left in the summer. And he backed that up by bringing Khedira on against Liverpool on Wednesday, meaning the central midfielder would be cup tied in the Champions League knockout stages for Arsenal.

But Khedira, according to a Metro report, is doing everything he can to make the transfer happen in January. The more money Arsenal are prepared to offer to Madrid in January, the more likely they will agree to sell, so Khedira’s reported offer to lower his wage demands to around £80,000 a week could be very helpful.

It also suggests that the player has made his decision for Arsenal aherad of Chelsea, Man United and the other clubs chasing him. But will he become a Gunner this season or will Arsene Wenger be forced to wait until the summer?

There is no way a player of his stature would want to earn that low wages playing for a lower entity like Arsenal in English weather.
