Long time Arsenal target Ricardo Montolivo has dealt Arsene Wenger another blow as he has agreed a deal with Italian giants AC Milan. According to TalkSport, Montolivo has already agreed upon a contract with the Italians and he’s due to join them in the summer.

Montolivo’s contract with Fiorentina was running out this summer, and being unwilling to extend his deal with the Florence club Milan will get him for free. The talented midfielder has been a target for Arsenal’s
Arsene Wenger for a few years now, but despite the massive number of rumours which have been linking the two parties, a deal never materialize.

Milan has agreed a four season contract with Montolivo who will earn around £2m a season in his time at the Italian Serie A title holders. The wage he has agreed upon with Milan would have been within the wage budget Arsene Wenger usually has for his players, and his services would have surely been a great addition to the Emirates Stadium side especially judging from the intense need the club has for top quality (and injury free) midfielders.

Wenger is believed to be in the fight to land Rennes’ Yann M’Vila and Lille’s Eden Hazard, and if he does the skill level at Arsenal will increase dramatically, but nothing concrete has been revealed yet.
