Robin Van Persie, Walcott and Arteta are out of the squad

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger kept his promise and he left the most important players of the team at home to rest while Arsenal is making the travel to Greece to face Olympiakos for what will be the final Champions League group stage game.

Here is the team which will travel to Greece

Andrey Arshavin
Yossi Benayoun
Marouane Chamakh
Francis Coquelin
Johan Djourou
Craig Eastmond
Lukasz Fabianski
Emmanuel Frimpong
Vito Mannone
Ignasi Miquel
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Oguzhan Ozyakup
Ju Young Park
Tomas Rosicky
Andre Santos
Sebastien Squillaci
Thomas Vermaelen
Nico Yennaris

The inexistent stake Arsenal has in this game persuaded Wenger to give a chance to players who rarely get to play, so that’s why we can see individuals like Ignasi Miquel, Ozyakup, Yennaris or Coquelin on the list and big names  like those of Walcott’s or Van Persie’s are not here.

Even though there are almost no first team players Wenger expressed his wish to win, and the younger players might be even more dangerous because they have something to prove.
