Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has been speaking about Ryo Miyaichi’s skill ever since the player joined two years ago, but what’s he really about?

Sure, we can all see that he’s a speedy guy who is perhaps even faster than Chamberlain or Walcott, which is not easy by any means, and we all saw that his technique on the ball when running is remarkable especially for his fresh age, but do you really think he’ll succeed at Arsenal?

Wenger loaned him out immediately after buying him to Feyenoord where the star let was very good throughout the season, but unfortunately for him the return to Arsenal also brought him an injury along with his work permit, so Wenger chose to loan him out again in order to give him time to recover and grow at another Premiership side, also getting used to the league’s pace.

Currently at Bolton, voices say that manager Owen Coyle was blown away by the youngster at his first appearance in the club’s jersey in a match against Preston which was held behind closed doors.

The real question is whether Ryo will be able to impose himself in Coyle’s first team thus also convincing Wenger to think about making him a starter next season when he’ll be back.

  1. We all know how gud dis boy is but we still ? his abilities though he’s still young. all I can say is that if Wenger can learn not to allow our defensive midfielders to hold on and slow down the game when it is not necessary to do that, whatever these youngsters when they’re given the chance they’ll know that Arsenal is all about winning trophies and be remembered as a player. Unlike the current crops of players who don’t understand what it means to wear a team’s jersey. Wish you all de best for the remaining games in EPL Ryodinho

  2. well it depends, arsenal had the reputation of promoting youngsters and making them superstars now its the opposite. maybe he should leave before he turns into a vela and never get chance to play no matter how much he impresses.
if almunia, arshavin, djourou, chamakh are good enough for arsenal so is ryo miyaichi.

  3. Ryu is the bizz… just like the other youngsters coming thru. Happy days, unless you,re completely blind.

  4. I have seen him train twice on media days as my mate is a journalist for the guardian. He is an extraordinary talent. he was running circles around song albeit in training but he has the character…but he probably needs game time at the highest level. He is a future arsenal star…give him 2 years.

  5. Ryo was not bought two years ago, rather it was January 2011. Having said this, it is obvious from comments from dos that watched him at Feyenoord and have watched his appearances for d reserve that he will go places and has d talent. Strenght & Power are key assets in d EPL but as a Japanese I expect that he would build that up fast. If Sturridge & Wilshere got their chance at Bolton, his chance will come and its left to him to grab it wit both hands as he did in Holland. The rest will be up to Wenger but he should make d grade

  6. That’s the reason Wenger sent him to Bolton. To know his caliber in EPL … we shall shortly see that …

    I hope he gets in

  7. Ryo has been plagued with injuries since he’s gotten here so hasn’t really had much chance to get some first team football here and given that we have the Ox, Walcott, Gerry and Arshavin the opportunities for him are zero at the moment. He needs games and competition to gain experience and show what he can do.

Look anyone who doubts his ability needs to go watch some of his performances in Holland, he lit the place on fire, the only issue was his lack of experience and he didn’t have a good understanding of where players would be etc but that improved.

I remember seeing Wilshere and Ramsey when they first got chances in the first team. I thought Wilshere looked okay but he only looked like a Lansbury type average midfielder. Whereas Ramsey was silky smooth and cutting through defenses. Wilshere came back from loan to be a person who ran rings around Barcelona’s midfield.

Look Ryo already has the natural ability to run past past players and dribble through them, something Walcott is barely getting to grips with now. Ryo can take an awesome free kick and corner, he can score goals and cross the ball well. But it will take a manager like Owen Coyle and hard fighting team like Bolton to show him the ropes.

Only time will tell whether he can make the leap up to Arsenal team, but I see no reason why he can’t.

  8. Ryo has already made the leap to Arsenal team. He was never idle. He played with the Reserves and the fact Wenger insisted to send him on loan to Bolton indicates he is needed for next term. We now have lots of Reserves on loan, improving their skills to get prepared. This is amazing. I see a stronger future than what we have at the moment though I must confess that the current players are amazing and fantastic, lady luck has not been kind if you look at all the match statistics but God opened the windows of heaven on Saturday and poured on us a blessing in the shape of 7 GOALS!

  9. Definitely already Arsenal material. I would pick him over Walcott all day long. Can he do any worse? uh uh.

He NEVER TIRES and always looks dangerous, Chamberlain and Gervinho are the only other players like this on the wings, Walcott and Arshavin have a woeful workrate, they have their moments, but when do they look dangerous throughout entire games. Miyaichi looks dangerous the whole game, every game … this is enough for me.

While on the subject of workrate, I would pick Chamakh for the Right Wing, his workrate too would provide more for the team than Walcott’s 3 runs, his off target shots on goal and his hit n’ miss crossing.

I had more faith in Parlour scoring and any Arsenal fan will be smiling now and knowing what I mean – because Razor at least had that workrate Walcott lacks.

    1. RAZOR is another story when it comes to workrate in the arsenal midfied, one of the best yet, he made life easier for vieira, you remember.

  10. We all know that at curent premier league Arsenal still the best forget what do happen to sometimes.Aresen wenger is the best when you talk about the future of clubs in europ.come to isue of Ryo maiyichi he’s the best toucher.infact he the magic leg,i am of no dout he’s coming back to change things.i prepare watching arsenal pre-season because that’s were you will find perfect joy, alot of young good players playing.we håve player like joe cambel, walter,Ryo,vela,Yannaris,Aneke, and s.m.m

  11. But remember,we all own Arsene wenger a sport.we are not gaining now but its no far from us.from 2o14 many big clubs will cry .mark my word

  12. If we loose ryodinho to some other club,be english or foreing, not even GOD ALMIGHTY will forgive venger,we have already lost a lot of very promising players, but if we loose ryo,i hope god will have mercy on mr wenger

  13. RYO MIACHY ES UN GRAN JUGADOR DE TALENTO NATO, LO UNICO QUE LE FALTA ES CONVENCER EN BOLTON SI LO LOGRA ESTARA LISTO PARA EL ARSENAL FC, VELA POR EJEMPLO NUNCA LOGRO ESTABLECERSE EN NINGUN EQUIPO, NO TIENE CONSISTENCIA ES MUY MALO, EN CAMBIO RYO ES UN JUGADOR CONSISTENTE Y SI LOGRA ENTRAR EN BOLTON COMO SOSPECHO LO HARA, LLEGARA A ARSENAL FC CON UN GRAN RETO Y ES GANAR LA PREMIER LEAGUE LA PROXIMA TEMPORADA JUNTO A CHAMBERLAIN Y THEO Y VAN PIERSIE Y SERA EL PIRES DEL ARSENAL FC

  14. Ryo is the real deal.He is more an arsenal player than Ramsey.I believe that the fact that he has not gotten an opportunity is the fact that Wenger no longer has faith with his youth.Look at AOC or Coquelin they deserve to have been in the 1st eleven longer b4 we so called the boo boys point it out to Prof.
