Should Arsenal take Giovinco on a free transfer?

There have been numerous Arsenal rumours over the years linking us with the diminutive Italian international Sebastian Giovinco, but now it seems that the now 27 year-old midfielder will be available on a free transfer next summer.

He has declined to agree a new contract with Juventus and his agent has made it clear that he will be keen to start talks with clubs in January. Andrea D’Amico told tuttomercatoweb.com: “Sebastian is very focused on the season, calm and aware of his qualities.

“He always works hard to be ready. His contract expires in 2015. Anyway, we are calm.

“We know that many clubs like him, but until January the rules say we can only deal with Juventus for a possible contract extension, but it has not yet happened. Thereafter, we can deal with all the other clubs.”

Giovinco has been frozen out at Juventus for the last couple of seasons, but when on loan at Parma in 2011/12 he managed to score 16 goals in 38 games, so he could still have the talent, and at 27 he still has a good few years left in him.

Should Arsenal snap him up on a free transfer?
