Former Arsenal Target Regrets Summer Decision

Former Arsenal target Chris Samba is fed up with the situation at Rovers and is looking for a way out of the club. The centre-back was wanted by Wenger all summer long, but since Mertesacker was brought in the Frenchman doesn’t seem interested anymore in transferring another even though Samba would be.

Now Samba is frustrated that the Rovers are still fighting around the same spots in the Premiership and declared that he wants to be transferred because he feels like his career is going nowhere.

“Lately, mentally, it has been difficult,” Samba told L’Equipe.

“I tried to maintain my level of performance but I sense that it is time for a change. The club doesn’t evolve at all. I’m resigned.

“I’ve always put the interests of the club before my own.

“I’ve invested a lot, always tried to lead by example, but things have not gone as I was told. I hope people will understand me.”

Miquel is probably going to leave on loan and Arsenal could use some full-backs, but the transfer of Samba wouldn’t do any good at the moment as Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen and Djourou are now fighting for one of the centre-back positions. Do you think Wenger will give a helping hand to Samba?

Edu:”Santos will become a fan favourite”

Former Arsenal star Edu offered a statement for Arsenal’s official website about the new Brazilian Arsenal just bought Andre Santos. Edu seems to think that manager Arsene Wenger did an excellent job when he decided to bring in the left-back from Turkish team Fenerbahce, and that Santos will shortly become a fan favourite at the London club.

“He is a very good player and a very good guy,” Edu told Arsenal.com. “With the ball he is technically fantastic, a typical Brazilian player.

“But every Brazilian needs time to adapt to the league because the English league is so different. I am 100 per cent sure that the fans will love him because he is very good with the ball.”

“I know the Brazilian players at Arsenal very well, all the Brazilians follow them,” he said. “I follow Arsenal as well.

“Before he came to London, Andre spoke to me and asked me about Arsenal – and it’s nice to see so many Brazilians here. If they are here maybe it is because me, Silvinho and Gilberto did something good.”

Andre Santos joined Arsenal in the last week of the transfer season, and since then he managed to improve his performances every game. Let’s just hope he will keep that up and Arsene Wenger will keep playing him so we can see more of the same from the Brazilian defender.
