Is Wenger right to reject this Arsenal transfer bid?

The next game up for Arsenal in this tough period we find ourselves in looks a little easier than the previous three against Liverpool, Stoke City and Chelsea. But even though our FA cup opponents Burnley are one division below the Gunners, they are in very good form.

Arsene Wenger is sure to have one eye on the Premier League match with Southampton three days later and so the Frenchman is sure to rotate quite a few of his first team stars, including handing a rare start to the second choice keeper David Ospina who The Sun reports that the boss has turned down an offer for from the Turkish club Besiktas.

Arsenal striker set for SHOCK transfer to Turkey?

If the latest Arsenal transfer rumours are true, then Arsene Wenger not only has a massive transfer war chest to spend this summer, but he also has a list of transfer targets to spend it on. And right at the top of that list, according to a Sky Sports report, is a new striker.

The report, which comes from an interview with the Arsenal director Lord Harris of Peckham, also claims that Wenger has identified the player he wants and is in the process of persuading the other club involved to sell the centre forward in question to Arsenal, with the suggestion that the player is keen.

Should Arsenal have bought Demba Ba?

It seems, in the light of Olivier Giroud’s injury, that perhaps Arsenal should have been quicker to sign up a dedicated striker aerlier on in this transfer window.

One of those possible arrivals was Chelsea’s Demba Ba, who Jose Mourinho stopped from going to the Emirates last summer. Instead Besiktas snapped him up and he very nearly scuppered Arsenal’s place in this season’s Champions League proper.

He was asked if he had any regrets about not joining Arsenal. He replied: “I’m happy at Besiktas,”

“How close did I come to joining Arsenal? As close as you and me here, but it’s past. I just look forwards.

Wenger backs Arsenal star to make Lineker eat his words

Gary Lineker may try his best to be impartial and unbiased while being the front man for Match of the Day for the BBC, but when it comes to Twitter, the former Tottenham striker has no reason to hold back and launched a sarcastic dig at the Arsenal and France centre forward Olivier Giroud last week.

He tweeted, “Playing in front of Arsenal’s midfield should guarantee a minimum of 25 goals a season for a striker of note. Alas….”

Bring on Besiktas roars battling Arsenal star!!

After Arsenal looked silky smooth as we eased to a comfortable Community Shield win at Wembley against the might of Man City, the start of the season proper has been problematic to say the least. A scrambled winner saved us from a shocker against Crystal Palace before we ground out a draw in Istanbul and narrowly avoided defeat at Everton.

So are the Arsenal players feeling the pressure a bit and worrying about our form? Not on you Nellie, at least not if you ask our England international midfielder Jack Wilshere anyway. The 22-year old, who is well aware of what a big season this is for him personally as well as for the club he loves, has been speaking about his confidence ahead of the second leg with Besiktas, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Picture to give every Arsenal fan a warm glow!!

The new season has hardly got started, with Arsenal having played just one Premier League game so far, but we are already having a mini injury crisis. When I looked the other day, there were six first team players supposedly on the sidelines and there had been no mention of Abou Diaby in any of the matchday squads, ominously.

So when I saw this picture on Arsenal.com today, I breathed a huge sigh of relief. With Mikel Arteta out and still no movement from Arsene Wenger in the transfer window for that tricky deep midfield position, having the lanky Frenchman available again really could be like having a new signing.

Chamakh Due To Leave Arsenal?

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger might finally be able to shake off striker Marouane Chamakh, a player who the Frenchman has been trying to sell for a long time. Turkish side Besiktas seem to be highly interested in buying the Morocco international from Arsenal in their attempts to get stronger for the new season.

Besiktas manager Samet Aybaba has admitted that the rumours are correct, and that the attempts the club has made to sign a striker may lead them to snatching Chamakh from Arsenal.

‘We have decided to push forwards in our attempts to sign a striker, there is a high possibility we sign Chamakh,’
