Arsenal boss looking for weakness as Man Utd host Man City

The Manchester derby is clearly the big match of the Premier League weekend, but Arsene Wenger has got his own things to worry about as he prepares the Arsenal squad for the visit of Southampton to the Emirates stadium today.

It is a game that the Gunners need to win and one from which we expect to take all three points, especially aftyer their slow start to life under the new manager Claude Puel. But the fact that he knows Wenger from his time in charge of Monaco may just give Puel a helping hand and we cannot afford to take this game lightly.

Arsenal star now wanted by Man City AND Barcelona

The good news for Arsenal fans is that our Spanish international right back appears to happy with his life as a Gunner, for now at least. It does not take a great feat of memory for Gooners to recall the bad old days when we seemed unable to hold on to our best players, though, so maybe we should be worried about the transfer interest in Hector Bellerin.

It was bad enough when we kept seeing Arsenal transfer rumours suggesting that Bellerin’s boyhood club FC Barcelona were keeping track of the former La Masia academy defender and had put him on their list of possible replacements for the Brazilian star Dani Alves, who moved to Serie A to play for Juventus this summer.

Arsenal to match Man City’s £34m transfer bid for Mahrez?

The amount of £34 million for a player who was just voted as the best player in the Premier League and who was the driving force behind the remarkable story of Leicester City last season does not sound all that much in the crazy modern world of football transfers.

But that is the amount that Arsenal are looking at offering to the Foxes to even match the opening bid of our EPL rivals Man City after Pep Guardiola made his first move towards signing the brilliant Algerian international. We do not know if this offer will be enough and Claudio Ranieri suggested only this week that he did not think his star man would try to force a move.

Arsenal lose out to Man City on Nolito transfer

It looks as though the Arsenal manager’s search for a striker to help out the much criticised France international Olivier Giroud will have to go on, as we appear to have missed out on the Celta Vigo and Spain star Nolito and the fact that Arsene Wenger was in the running for the 29-year old at all was because the Leicester City and England forward Jamie Vardy has apparently rejected the chance to join Arsenal.

Even worse than us missing out on yet another striker transfer, according to a report by The Mirror, is the fact that Nolito will be playing for our Premier League rivals Man City instead.

Arsenal braced for BIG Alexis Sanchez transfer bid?

The Arsenal and Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez will hopefully be out of action with his hamstring injury for just a few weeks and is currently expected back in action in time for the busy festive period. Until then the Gunners will have to get by without him and we managed to do just that in the Premier League game against Sunderland.

But Arsenal definitely do not want to lose him for any longer and we especially do not want to see him sign for another club. So the latest Arsenal transfer rumour reported by Metro which claims that the Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has set his sights on our star striker is not what Arsenal fans want to see.

Stats prove Arsenal beating Bayern was NO fluke

With most reports giving the Arsenal keeper Petr Cech the Man of the Match award for his brilliant display which helped Arsenal beat the German giants Bayern Munich and get our Champions League campaign back on track last night, you can understand why some people would say that the Gunners got lucky.

And with Pep Guardiola and his players having enjoyed a massive amount of the ball, with Arsenal having less than 30 percent possession on our own ground, this might seem to be the case. But this would be ignoring the way that Arsene Wenger set up his team and the tactics worked to perfection.

Wenger to sign new Arsenal contract soon?

After joining Arsenal in 1996, Arsene Wenger has now spent 16 years at the club, in which he has arguably become one of Arsenal’s greatest managers, especially as he is one of the most successful! However the Frenchman has now gone eight consecutive years without silverware and some have suggested perhaps his time with the club should be brought to an end, if not before now. But it seems like Wenger is set to remain with Arsenal for a few more years at least.

Pep Guardiola set to take over at Arsenal as Wenger experiment ends in failure

It is being reported that the Arsenal board are in talks to try and persuade the Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola to take up the challenge of turning the misperforming Gunners back into trophy winners.

Barcelona are set to miss out on the La Liga title this season for the first time in Guardiola’s four-year tenure, and the coach himself has admitted that he hasn’t yet decided to extend his contract at the Nou Camp beyond this summer.

Guardiola said last night: “I can’t be at such a demanding club without being certain that I have the strength to do it,”
