So Arsenal DID try to sign a forward this summer?

Even though us Arsenal fans are feeling on top of the world this morning and a lot more happy with our long serving manager Arsene Wenger, with a thumping 3-0 victory over Premier League rivals Manchester United being just what we needed, there is still a lot of anger and confusion about the failure to do much in the summer transfer window.

Wenger did keep saying that he was trying to find and sign players for Arsenal but that it was not easy and a report by Metro today seems to back up the claim.

Serie A star midfielder’s agent reveals Arsenal plan!!

The Arsenal fans that are hoping for Arsene Wenger to sign at least one strong and combative central midfielder in the January transfer window will be pleased to hear that the Frenchman has his Arsenal scouts looking at a certain player to fill that role.

But they may not be quite so happy to hear about the identity of the player, revealed by his agent according to a Daily Mail report. Because the name of Cristian Ledesma is not exactly the big name defensive midfielder we were hoping for. But the player’s agent has confirmed our interest.

Podolski – My future has yet to be decided

Arsenal’s chase for German striker Lukas Podolski might not be on the road to success after all judging from the last statement the Koln hitman made yesterday.

According to the Italian press, the striker declared that he wouldn’t mid joining his conational striker Miroslav Klose in Roma playing for Lazio. Klose has joined the Italians in the summer and he seems to have settled in very well. The two strikers were also teammates at Bayern Munich when Podolski was playing for the Bavarian side.

“It would be great to play alongside him again. Miro has spoken well of Lazio and he’s happy in Rome,” Podolski said.

Lazio Admit Interest In Arshavin!

Italian giants Lazio admitted that they would be interested in the services of a top player like Arsenal’s winger Andrey Arshavin, but are worried that the move isn’t feasible due to the difficulty of landing such a good player.

According to Lazio’s sporting director Igil Tare, the Italian club would love to have such a quality winger aboard, but no official inquiries have been made and the transfer would probably be a difficult one to solve.

“Arshavin is a great player and I think everyone would like to have him in their squad,” he said.

Lazio Make Inquiry As Arsenal Attempt To Shake Top Flop

Arsenal’s Russian star Andrey Arshavin might be in for a January transfer if Wenger will play his cards right, but with Chamakh and Gervinho already gone for the African National Cup, the Frenchman must first make sure he still has options to replace the winger.

30-year-old Arshavin is now wanted by Italian side Lazio who need a replacement for Frenchman Cisse who proved to be a flop this season, and Wenger admits that it may be the Russian’s time to go.
