Arsenal striker transfer plans hit with major blow

There are quite a few ifs to this particular piece of Arsenal transfer news. If the Lyon and France forward Alexandre Lacazette is the number one transfer target for the Gunners is the main one and after that we do not know if Arsene Wenger is prepared to improve on the offer of around £30 million that the striker’s French club have already turned down.

If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then Arsenal fans could still be disappointed as Lacazette picked up what could turn out to be a transfer scuppering hip injury in the French version of the Community Shield, called the Trophee Des Champions at the weekend.

Arsenal to sign Mandzukic if Lacazette transfer bid fails?

I wonder if the people in charge of the French club Olympique Lyonnais are keeping tabs on the latest Arsenal transfer rumours doing the rounds in the football media. I do hope so, because it could make them more willing to accept our improved but apparently final offer for their striker Alexandre Lacazette.

With Arsene Wenger said to be clear about the fact that this new offer for Lacazette will not be increased and with Metro reporting that the Juventus and Croatia centre forward Mario Mandzukic is next on the Arsenal transfer list and much more available after the Italian club spent a fortune on Gonzalo Higuain, they could soon be saying goodbye to 40 million euros.

Arsenal to finally sign Ligue 1 star after Vardy transfer snub

Maybe Arsenal fans will not be feeling so bad today after missing out on the transfer of Jamie Vardy from the Premier League title holders Leicester City. The England striker certainly failed to show his class as Roy Hodgson’s three lions were dumped out of Euro 2016 by the tournament minnows Iceland.

Quite a few people have said that Vardy would not really have suited Arsenal’s possession and dominance bsed style and perhaps they were proved right by England this summer. Whatever the case, Arsenal fans have been anxiously waiting to hear which striker would be coming to boost the firepower of the Gunners and now we do according to The Sun.

Wenger set for talks with Lacazette about Arsenal transfer

With most of the recent Arsenal transfer rumours focusing on which striker’s might be in the running for a summer move to north London following the confirmation this week that it would definitely not be the Leicester City and England star Jamie Vardy, the football media might soon have to find something else to talk about.

That is if the rumour reported by The Mirror about Alexander Lacazette is true of course. The report claims that Arsene Wenger is set for a meeting with the representatives of the Olympique Lyonnaias and France international forward and the fact that Didier Deschamps has not included the prolific 25-year old in his Euro 2016 squad means that Arsenal do not have that to interfere with our plans.

Arsenal rocked by striker transfer snub!!

He has been the subject of a large number of Arsenal transfer rumours this summer and was certainly one of the strikers that the Arsenal fans were hoping that Arsene Wenger would add to the attacking options of the Gunners for the season ahead.

Plus it was thought that the Lyon and France international star Alexandre Lacazette would be more easily available and probably cheaper than other strikers linked with the club, such as Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani. So the news reported by ESPN today is a real blow.

Arsenal to beat Liverpool to Lacazette transfer?

Poor old Brendan Rodgers must be getting sick of Arsenal. Not only did the Gunners give his side a lesson in football towards the end of last season, we also showed them that it is not as easy as he thought to qualify for the Champions League year on year.

Even when they did have a place among Europe’s elite to offer last summer, Arsenal still beat Liverpool to their top transfer target Alexis Sanchez. According to a report by The Telegraph, that is going to happen again this year and the player in question is another striker, Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal hopes ended after transfer target signs new contract

Arsenal have been looking at several options for a midfield signing this summer and one player thought to be quite high up the list was Lyon’s Clement Grenier. The French International had a very impressive season in the French Ligue 1 last year and performed at the highest level, resulting in interest from Arsene Wenger, including a reported opening bid. However any potential deal in the future now seems to be dead, as the midfielder has signed a new contract with his Ligue 1 side Lyon, after weeks of speculation.

Higuain desperate to leave Madrid, but Grenier won’t be allowed to join Arsenal

The Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has been very closely linked with Arsenal recently, but it seems the club is trying to obstruct any move for him, despite promising him a new contract last season and refusing to follow up on their on words. The hitman’s brother and agent re-iterated that there was nothing on the table at the moment: “Right now there is no agreement with any club,” he said.

“For starters, they would have to talk first with Real Madrid. Nothing has been closed.”

Arsenal face more problems with Lyon over transfers

In football, as in most businesses, having contacts and friends you can work with can help to get things done. It can smooth away problems and make for quicker and more efficient dealings, but the former Arsenal player and current manager of the French club Lyon must not have heard about that, because he seems to be going out of his way to make Arsene Wenger’s life difficult during this summer transfer window.

I suppose you can’t blame him for trying to hold on to his players, but now he is actively chasing another of the Arsenal transfer targets Sebastien Corchia. The right back has been reported as one of the main targets for the Gunners this summer.

Mrs Sagna hints that Hugo Lloris will join Arsenal

Arsenal are now closer than ever to sign France’s international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, with the Lyon star due to leave the French Ligue 1 side this summer.

If Arsene Wenger won’t tell the public anything about transfers until they are actually completed, the wives of Arsenal stars are giving the information away.

Bacary Sagna’s wife Ludvine Sagna has posted on Twitter her wish for Hugo Lloris’ wife Marine to join her in London, and for her husband to join the Gunners. Ludvine tweeted: “Really hope my friend Marine Lloris will come to #arsenal?,” wrote Ludivine Sagna.
