Higuain desperate to leave Madrid, but Grenier won’t be allowed to join Arsenal 3

Posted on June 10, 2013 by admin

The Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has been very closely linked with Arsenal recently, but it seems the club is trying to obstruct any move for him, despite promising him a new contract last season and refusing to follow up on their on words. The hitman’s brother and agent re-iterated that there was nothing on the table at the moment: “Right now there is no agreement with any club,” he said.

“For starters, they would have to talk first with Real Madrid. Nothing has been closed.”

Arsenal face more problems with Lyon over transfers 2

In football, as in most businesses, having contacts and friends you can work with can help to get things done. It can smooth away problems and make for quicker and more efficient dealings, but the former Arsenal player and current manager of the French club Lyon must not have heard about that, because he seems to be going out of his way to make Arsene Wenger’s life difficult during this summer transfer window.

I suppose you can’t blame him for trying to hold on to his players, but now he is actively chasing another of the Arsenal transfer targets Sebastien Corchia. The right back has been reported as one of the main targets for the Gunners this summer.

Arsenal are now closer than ever to sign France’s international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, with the Lyon star due to leave the French Ligue 1 side this summer.

If Arsene Wenger won’t tell the public anything about transfers until they are actually completed, the wives of Arsenal stars are giving the information away.

Bacary Sagna’s wife Ludvine Sagna has posted on Twitter her wish for Hugo Lloris’ wife Marine to join her in London, and for her husband to join the Gunners. Ludvine tweeted: “Really hope my friend Marine Lloris will come to #arsenal?,” wrote Ludivine Sagna.

France’s top goalkeeper makes himself available – Should Arsenal make a bid? 8

Arsenal might revive their interest in Lyon and France’s national team goalkeeper Hugo Lloris now that the 25-year-old has admitted his interest in making a switch from the French Ligue 1.

The Gunners are in big need of a goalkeeper because of Fabianski’s leave, and Wenger is highly likely to bring a top notch goalkeeper who can either take Szczesny’s place or make him fight for his first team spot as hard as he can.

Lyon’s chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted speaking to Lloris and deciding to let him go if an offer from a big European club came along, and as things stand at the moment this seems like a match made in heaven.

The fight continues between Arsenal and a few other clubs for the signature of the Lille attacking midfielder Eden Hazard as Alex Ferguson visits France to see him in action again. Manchester United’s manager has admitted that he went to see the match between Lille and Lyon in order to keep a close eye on the Belgian’s performances.

Arsenal were thought to be the favorites to sign the talented Belgian playmaker, but Chelsea and Manchester United don’t seem too willing to drop the fight and Wenger should expect a fierce battle for the star’s signature.

Wenger tipped for success as manager of France 2

The ex-Arsenal player Remi Garde, who is now coach at the French giants Lyon, believes that Arsene Wenger would be perfect to relace Laurent Blanc as manager of France after this summer’s Euro 2012 tournament.

“It could very well go to him,” Garde said “He’s very familiar with European football, world football and the players because he follows the French championship.

“He would, in the case of Laurent leaving, be an interesting choice for French football. He’s one of football’s greats.”
