Arsenal to lose Alexis Sanchez to summer transfer?

The Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has still not found his best form for the Gunners since coming back from a hamstring problem. He did not start the season too well either after helping Chile to win the Copa America last summer and looking jaded for a while.

But he still one of the players that Arsenal fans would be most loath to see leave and I am sure that Arsene Wenger feels the same way. But with The Mirror reporting that two big European clubs are looking to make a transfer bid for Sanchez in the summer, there might not be a lot we can do to keep him.

Both Italy’s Juventus and Spain’s Atletico Madrid could offer the Chilean a better chance of a title and of getting further in the Champions League on recent records and we know that Alexis loves to win and hates to lose. So just how is Wenger going to persuade his star man to stay with the Gunners unless he does something to show the striker that Arsenal are serious about trophy success and not just the balance sheet?

Arsenal back-up transfer target is BETTER than Benzema!!

I think that all Arsenal fans should be crossing our fingers and toes and hoping that Arsene Wenger fails in his reported attempt to bring the Real Madrid and France international star to north London this summer. According to the Arsenal transfer rumour mill, this could all hinge on Rafa Benitez and how his plans for the season affect the French striker and the saga could drag on right up until the end of the transfer window.

But if the news from a respected Spanish journalist, reported by Metro, is correct then I am hoping that Benitez persuades Benzema to say in Madrid and the sooner the better. Because Kike Marin has revealed that the Gunners have a second transfer target in case the Benzema bid fails and it is the Bayern Munich and Poland striker Robert Lewandowski.

I think he would be absolutely perfect for Arsenal as he brings more finesse and link up play than the Frenchman and his finishing is just as good if not better. But would the German champions be willing to sell?

WOW! Can Arsenal REALLY beat Man Utd to STUNNING transfer

I will be amazed if Arsenal can pull this shock transfer off, but saying that I was pretty amazed when Arsene Wenger signed Alexis Sanchez last summer and even more so when we got Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid the previous year. So maybe the Metro report claiming that the Gunners could beat our Premier League rivals to the transfer of Sergio Ramos should not be dismissed out of hand.

There have been lots of reports linking the Spanish international defender with United and it appears that Ramos is ready to call time on his long career in La Liga and come to England. And it also looks like M;adrid and United are locked in battle over him and David De Gea, with neither willing to budge.

Perhaps that means that Arsenal could swoop in and get Ramos with a decent offer, especially with Spaniards like Santi Cazorla in the side and his good friend Ozil as well. He would not be cheap but we can afford him these days and this would send out a serious message to our rivals, especially those from Old Trafford. What do you think?

Transfer boost spurs Arsenal into Khedira bid

Sorry about using the title of our rivals in the tile Arsenal fans, but if this latest Arsenal transfer rumour is true, it is great news for the Gunners. It follows the bad news reported earlier this week that the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich had already agreed a pre-contract agreement with Sami Khedira.

The Real Madrid and Germany midfielder is out of contract in the summer and so can sign such a deal once the January transfer window opens, although Arsenal fans were hoping that Arsene Wenger would make move to bring Khedira to the Emirates in January and steal a march on our rivals.

But according to the Daily Express, there is still a chance for Arsenal to do just that after Bayern Munich released a statement denying that any such agreement had been made. And the report claims that this reprieve has spurred on Wenger to prepare a transfer bid for the Madrid star in January, although it goes on to say that our Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man United are doing the same.

But at least the Gunners are still in with a chance and the revelations from Per Mertesacker that he and Mesut Ozil have been working on their fellow countryman to choose Arsenal, might just give us the advantage.

Plot thickens as Arsenal target Falcao left out by Monaco

I am not saying that Arsenal are on the verge of signing the Colombian international striker Radamel Falcao, whether on a season long loan deal or whatever, but there are increasing signs that the 28-year old may be moving on from his current club Monaco in the French Ligue 1.

Even if he does, however, it does not mean that he will be coming to Arsenal. We are just one of the clubs being linked with Falcao, with moneybags Man City and Real Madrid also apparently in the frame. But we are one of the clubs, so the news reported by ESPN that the prolific 28-year old was left out of the Monaco squad completely for their home draw with Lille yesterday does offer some encouragement.

Arsene Wenger mentioned him by name in his press conference the other day although he also said that he would not reveal his plans. But it is still a long shot for the Gunners, although the rumours that the striker’s transfer is likely to be a loan deal to get him off Monaco’s wage bill would seem to suit us well as we are looking for a temporary solution after the injury to Olivier Giroud.

There were reports that Falcao was set for Madrid after he supposedly tweeted as much, but ESPN have also reported that the player himself has declared that the tweet was false and did not come from him. If Arsenal are not in for Falcao, I hope that Wenger has another striker in his sights because otherwise I think we are in trouble.

Could Arsenal get Khedira cheap after Bayern back off?

It could be back on, Arsenal fans, after our longed for transfer hopes of bringing Sami Khedira to join his World Cup winning team mates Lukas Podolski, Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker received a big boost from the Spanish media today.

Apparently Khedira’s wage demands were the first stumbling block, with the 27-year old Germany international asking for around £150,000 a week, which would make him the best paid player at the club. Then when it was being reported that Khedira had lowered his demands a bit in order to force the move through, we got the bad news that Bayern Munich wanted him and were strong favourites.

But a report in The Mirror today suggests that the Gunners are back on top and in with a real chance of completing the transfer. The German club, just as they did with Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund, are apparently happy to wait until Khedira is on a free transfer next summer, but his current club Real Madrid are not so keen on that, understandably.

The Spanish giants are not exactly stretched in the midfield area, with Toni Kroos joining the likes of Alonso and Modric, so maybe it is time for Arsenal to offer them around £15 million. That would certainly soften the blow of his salary.

Arsenal will NOT sign both! So is it Casillas OR Ospina?

I thought that Arsenal would have announced the transfer of the Colombia international number one David Ospina by now, as it was reported that we had a greed a fee of around £3 million with his French club Nice and had sorted out the personal terms of his contract with the Gunners.

But still no announcement from Arsenal and it looks like the reason could be the captain of Spain and Real Madrid, Iker Casillas. The news from Spain, picked up by various media sources like Metro, is that the 33-year old is ready to quit his La Liga club as they close in on another World Cup keeper, Keylor Navas of Costa Rica.

The report claims that Casillas is keen to come to the Premier League and play for the Gunners and that Arsene Wenger has offered him wages of around £100,000 a week to make the move. The only obstacle, apparently, is that Wenger does not want to pay a transfer fee so Casillas is asking Madrid to cancel his contract.

If this is true, it could spell the end for the transfer of Ospina, as surely Arsenal will not need both of them and current first choice Wojciech Szczesny. My concern is that if Madrid are willing to release Casillas, they clearly see him as behind Lopez and Navas, despite him formerly being the best in the world. He would certainly bring vast experience with him and that would be good for Szczesny, but is he really a better option than Ospina?

Arsenal in 4-way transfer battle for Costa Rica keeper Navas

After his World Cup heroics in Brazil, Keylor Navas was always going to attract some interest in the transfer market. According to the Arsenal transfer rumours going around the media, the Gunners are one of the clubs that are now chasing the 27-year old Costa Rica star.

But even though Arsenal have the advantage of having one of his international team mates, Joel Campbell, already on the books, we are not going to have an easy ride if Arsene Wenger is intent on signing Navas as competition and cover for the Poland international Wojciech Szczesny, according to a report in The Mirror.

The paper claims that Arsenal are one of four big European clubs keen on the talented stopper, with Bayern Munich, FC Porto and Atletico Madrid being the other three. Two of those are clubs that are currently the champions of their respective countries, and Porto are always close to the top of the Portuguese league title.

The good news is that his current club, La Liga’s Valencia, want to get the deal done as soon as possible so they have plenty of time and money to find a replacement for him. However, with Courtois being recalled to Chelsea, I would have to say that Madrid looking at him as a guaranteed starter probably gives them the edge.

Do you think that Wenger should pull out the stops to sign the Costa Rica star?

WOW – Casillas could be coming to Arsenal this week!

It has been a frustrating month for Arsenal fans, with Arsene Wenger seemingly sleeping on the job as the business of signing players in the transfer window goes on around us. But now all the signs are pointing to this week being a good one for the Gunners.

The official unveiling of the new PUMA hit on Thursday is likely to coincide with the official announcement of at least to exciting new Arsenal players. The fans want big names as well as the right players for the club, and they do not come much bigger than the Spain and Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas. That transfer really would turn heads this week, and probably increase the sale of shirts very nicely thank-you, and according to the Daily Star, it could happen.

The paper reports that Casillas has decided on a move to the Premier League as he is not confident of his place in the Madrid side of Carlo Ancelotti, who preferred Diego Lopez throughout last season’s La Liga campaign. Arsene Wenger is said to have contacted the 33-year old last week to see if he fancied the move and has seemingly persuaded the Spaniard.

That must mean that he has promised Casillas more game time than he would get at Madrid, which is not such good news for Wojciech Szczesny, who may become a `cup keeper` himself. However, having such a top class keeper at the club will surely help turn the Polish international into one of the best in the world in the coming years, as he is still only 24. What do you think to this Arsenal transfer rumour?

Arsenal lining up transfer of Sanchez AND Di Maria?

Gooners around the world will probably be taking all the Arsenal transfer rumours flying around the media with a pinch of salt. Especially after Arsene Wenger hinted that the Gunners would not be making any early signings because of the World Cup finals in Brazil.

But as well as being used to disappointment in recent years in the transfer market, the Arsenal fans are an optimistic bunch as well. After Wenger broke with recent habit last year and smashed the club transfer record to bring Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid, perhaps we have more reason than ever to dream.

The Arsenal boss should have at least two more games to check out another Madrid star, Angel Di Maria, as he plays for Argentina. The pacy wide man has had a great season in La Liga but has hinted again that his future at the club is in doubt, as a report in The Mirror reveals.

The same report claims that Arsenal are also serious contenders for the Barcelona and Chile attacker Alexis Sanchez. We will have to fight it out with Italian champions Juventus and Premier League rivals Liverpool for his services, but that is a fight worth having.

There is a decent chance of Arsenal signing one of these top class players, but could you imaging if Wenger could pull of the transfer of BOTH of them? Or do I need to lie down?
