Arsenal return to Premier League action tomorrow after what was a rather nerve-racking midweek Capital One Cup game vs. West Brom. The game in midweek wasn’t exactly highly exhilarating like it was expected to be, however at the end of the day it’s just the final result that matters and thankfully the Gunners managed to pull through to the next round to face Chelsea after beating the Baggies 4-3 on penalties.
As rumours fly around that Arsenal are set to give up on Liverpool and Uruguayan international striker Luis Suarez, the news picks up that we will instead look to Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and Swansea City’s Michu. In my opinion both of these players are good and arguably at the top of their game right now considering their respective performances last season, however are they good enough to be not just an Arsenal player, but to lead our front line.
The Swansea manager Michael Laudrup was decidedly unimpressed with the football on display in the second half of yesterdays game against Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium, and thinks that the Gunners only took the points because of a “scrappy goal” that gave us the lead.
Admittedly Michu blew a couple of chances in the first half, but considering Alex Chamberlain also hit the bar twice I think we could consider it even stevens….
The Swans manager said in this mornings Premier League News: “I thought it would be a draw.”
